Activation guide
Use the customer portal license key to activate Mongrel on the machines allowed by your plan.
1. Copy your license key
Sign in to the portal and open License. The copy button appears only when a license key exists for the account.
2. Activate inside Mongrel
Open Mongrel, use the app menu license or activation action, paste the key, and submit it. The app records the activation through the licensing service.
3. Understand plan limits
Solo Dev includes one seat with two active machine activations. Team, Business, and Educators include one active machine activation per seat.
Team: 5 seats.
Business: 25 seats.
Educators: 100 seats.
4. Replacing a computer
The portal Devices page shows synced activations, but customer self-service release is not exposed yet. If you hit the activation limit after replacing hardware, open a support ticket and staff can release the stale activation.
